The Kalyana Nagar Association functioning at Mandavelipakkam, Chennai-28 is a Socio-Cultural institutionrendering various services to the neighbourhood society for nearly six decades.
Some of the activities Kalyana Nagar Association is involved in are :
- Free Medical Camps to check for Eye, Heart, Diabetes, Dental, Urology and general Health in association with reputed organizations and specialists in respective fields. Free Glasses are provided and free cataract surgeries conducted for all sections of society.
- Free Educational Assistance to needy School and College students every year irrespective of caste or creed.
- Free Vasthra Dhanam on the occasion of Deepavali to economically weaker sections of Society.
- Distribution of free School Bags to students of weaker sections of society.
- Free Annadhanam to public on all important festivals and occasions.
- Marriage Assistance to the deserving cases
- Yearly Samashti Upanayanam for Children from deserving families
- Free Religious discourses by eminent Scholars which are open to public
- Sloka and Music Classes for Women
- Musical Programme and Concerts by eminent Artists every month
- Monthly Saiva Siddhantha Programmes by Thiruvavadudurai Adheenam
- Annual Ayyappa Mandala Pooja in the month of December
- Donations in support of Temple Kumbabhishegams
- Periodical Enviournmental Protection and Awareness campaigns
The Association was founded in the early fifties by the first settlers of Mandavelipakkam.
It also has a ladies wing known as “Sadhana” engaged in various cultural and social services.
The Association is managed by Honorary office Bearers who are elected by its members.
